Is my baby teething already?
Teething starts around 4 months. If your son is drooling, put a bib on him and keep his neck dry to prevent a rash, but don't worry about teething just yet. At 8 weeks it's normal for a baby to wake up quite a bit, but if you have any concerns about his health you should certainly take him to the doctor. He may have colic, or gas, or constipation... the list of causes for fussiness is almost endless. Your baby won't get into a real sleeping pattern until 6 months or so, and even then you'll get the occasional middle of the night wakeup. Just be patient and remember to always call your doctor if you ever feel like there could be something wrong. At 8 weeks, the health of an infant can severely deteriorate within hours. But chances are your son's just a little fussy! It'll get better soon.
