Why do Star Wars figurines cost soooo much?

I bought or should I say, Santa Claus brought Star Wars toys for my kids this Christmas, and they were a little too pricey, but I still bought them cause, they'd been good kids this year. Any way, so I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and a little animal with a little man of about the size of my pencil was on CLEARANCE for $60. Like are you serious. That is not Clearance. Why are those toys so expensive. I know they are from like a million years ago but the toys are recently manufactured. Do you know??
